FF`SPACE INTERVIEW 002: YAPORIGAMI

[7+1 questions to...]

1. HERE we know your creations in the music under the name of YAPORIGAMI and some of us also knows your brilliant sounds under the name of Yu Miyashita. We could also find the information regarding the YAPORIGAMI project as for the beat oriented sound and sometimes we hear no beats but some nice pulsation in the music of this project (for example your great recent work at DETROIT UNDERGROUND “Eye / Hand”). What kind of beats did you mean here and what are the basic differences for these two projects YAPORIGAMI and YU MIYASHITA for you? Are this differences unexplainable ?

In short, (space wise) Yaporigami is club / dance orientated project and Yu Miyashita is rather gallery / church feel. Mentioning "Eye / Hand" is a good question indeed. By releasing this album, I needed to expand the definition of both projects from style focused thinking to space focused.

2. The name of your recent album at FF`SPACE is the “A HECTIC TRUER”, this is a quite nice name for one of your recent releases and it could have a lot of meanings. What does this name mean for the album? Any other meaning for this term? Was this name generated randomly or which concept did you try to put inside? And Is this sound is really recent in the time line of your creations as well as the time line for the released media?

"A Hectic Truer" is an anagram derived from "Architecture". As both this album and FF' Space have architectural sense, I thought of anagramming it and came up with this name. Its name has a philosophical feel to me as it sounds like "A Seeker of the Truth". I cannot deny the fact that I have chosen this anagram because I like philosophies. As explained in a release description, all those tracks are crafted in 2012 after an album release of "Hertzian" on Hz-records, JP.

3. How does the creation process go for you basically and how it was during the creation of the album “A HECTIC TRUER”? For example, do you have a clear idea from the start to end, or is the process organised in some other way? Is it started from a special kind of sound or Is there an idea started at first or some creative process started before the idea?

FFSintrw002-YAPORIGAMI-001

I usually wouldn't have any initial ideas / concepts at the beginning. I often start my creation process by collecting / mutating / editing audio samples. By seeing / hearing audio bits from those experiments, I'll start composing intuitively (putting them in a sequence / order so that they will sound somehow musical at the end).

4. What kind of instruments did you use for creation of your work and what influence do you think this had on your work? Could you consider the up and downsides to working with this kind of instruments/tools? Was there some special instruments used for the work “A HECTIC TRUER” if to compare with your other works under the alias of YAPORIGAMI?

FFSintrw002-YAPORIGAMI-002

There is no hardware / instruments involved in for the creation of this album. Purely done by audio handling / editing / mutating in Ableton Live. Power of the "grid" might be pros and cons. No such special instruments I'm afraid. I need to invent / have / borrow one for sure.

5. Can you tell us a little bit more about your album “A HECTIC TRUER” and could it be related or not to the concepts like "First Frequency Space" or "Fragmented Frames" of the FF`SPACE? What is about track names? Can you name one or a few aspects that you are really pleased with? Is there some aspects that you would do differently next time?

FFSintrw002-YAPORIGAMI-003

Because I studied Architecture (for a year before switching to Digital Music / Sound Art) and am interested in philosophy, I'm often intrigued by core frames / essence of things. In this way, I feel there's a certain relation to the concepts of the label. Track names are fragmentation of the word "fragment" and I'm pleased with it as explained. :)

6. How would you describe your music in general? Could it be described as some kind of approach to making music or could your music be described at all?

FFSintrw002-YAPORIGAMI-005

In general term, It's Glitch / IDM / Techno. I was told that my music sounds like there's a living creature in it. As I'm trying to capture something beyond music by creating music. I pretty much liked to be described / said so.

7. What do you think the most reason for the music to be created for you? We also know you are going dipper into the visual production now. We think that is great fact. How is it related to the music you create and what is the first for you now in the creative process: the music or the visual or both? How are the music and the visual are related in this process? What was the first reason to start work with visual too?

FFSintrw002-YAPORIGAMI-006

I seem to have been making music for therapeutic sake for a long. It might sound weird but creating music has been / is helping me a lot in this way for sure.

Music comes first to me so far. Visual side is narrative to encourage people to see abstract music in more concrete way.

When Lucio Arese created a video for the "Mimic", it all suddenly made a total sense. As we, human, perceives information rather visually than auditorily, it is a great bridge between I sense.

I'd like to say thank you again for all your efforts to put this release into a reality with warm respect.

FFSINTRV001 / INTERVIEW: FF`SPACE 7+1 questions to 14CIRCLES

FFSINTRV001   INTERVIEW:  FF`SPACE  7+1 questions to   14CIRCLES   1. Most of us know your creations in experimental music as under the name of .AT/ON, and some of us is also heard sounds of your project named COTF, Why did you decided to release this new sound under the new name of 14CIRCLES? 2. Is there some difference in the process of creative expirience or is this transformation unexplainable ? This transformation is closely related to changes in my life and new experience. Four years ago I moved from Ukraine to Sweden. There I studied applied acoustic. I would say that I discovered the other side of the sound. I learned more about physics of sound and vibration. During that time I understand that my way of doing music will change. I thought that I need to take a pause, I need to rest and concentrate on other things. I realize that after this pause I would come back with another sound, another music and another
